29th   Sunday of Ordinary Time 18th October 2009

 

Prayers of the Faithful

Presider:

Let us present to our living God our prayers and petitions while seeking the grace to follow his Son who came to serve, and not to be served.

.

 

  1. Priest/Deacon          Let us pray for  the missions of the Church 

Reader:  Lord… as we celebrate  World mission Sunday may the saving truth of  your Gospel be preached to all peoples especially in missionary lands.

 Pause           Lord hear us

                     R: Lord, hear our prayer.

 

 

  1. Priest/Deacon          Let us pray for our priests 

Reader:  In this year of the priests we pray for all the ministers of your church, (Hamilton) especially Fr Phillip Billing of Waihi. May their lives continue to be a dedication to your Son and service to your people

 Pause           Lord hear us

                     R: Lord, hear our prayer.

 

 

  1. Priest/Deacon          Let us pray for the parents in our community

Reader:         Lord we pray for our mothers, fathers and grandparents.  May they be examples to their children: teaching them through the practise of their faith, as disciples of the Lord.

Pause            Lord hear us

                     R: Lord, hear our prayer.

 

 

  1. Priest/Deacon          Let us pray for the sick.

Reader:         Lord… we pray for those who are sick, especially those who are terminally ill: for those who are distressed and overcome by their pain and suffering. Give them the grace to place their complete trust in you.

Pause            Lord hear us

                     R: Lord, hear our prayer.

 

 

5.Priest/Deacon           We pray for all those who have died …

Reader:         Lord… we pray for … (names) : all  our loved ones who have died. May they reap their eternal reward with you in everlasting glory

Pause            Lord hear us

                     R: Lord, hear our prayer.

Presider       Loving Father, hear the prayers of your people, and grant us your grace and blessing. We ask this through your son Jesus Christ, Our Lord
